Official Development Assistance (ODA), 2012-2016

Sources: OECD, www.oecd.org ; UNDP, www.undp.org

Comment

These maps show the official development assistance (ODA) given by three Northern blocs. The respective geographies are clear: The European Union primarily aids “neighboring” regions, i.e. the Balkans, the Near East, and North Africa and, to a lesser extent, the rest of Africa; the United States focuses more on Afghanistan-Pakistan, sub-Saharan Africa (particularly the East), the Near East and Latin America; while Japan’s priority is South East and Southern Asia.
